Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support complex semi-automated equipment. This role requires strong expertise in SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, 3D and 2D design, and material selection, along with the ability to drive mechanical solutions from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex semi-automated and automated mechanical systems from concept through final release
  • Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
  • Manage and control design data, revisions, and documentation using SolidWorks PDM
  • Perform material selection based on mechanical properties, manufacturability, cost, and application requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, manufacturing, and quality
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities
  • Identify design improvements and provide solutions to technical challenges
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and company processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Proven experience creating 3D models and 2D fabrication/assembly drawings
  • Hands-on experience with material selection and mechanical component design
  • Experience developing semi-automated or automated equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with machine design, tooling, or industrial equipment
  • Exposure to manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, welding, plastics)
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering standards (ASME, ISO)
  • Previous experience in regulated or high-reliability industries
