RF Design Engineer - 5G/LTE
We are seeking experienced RF Design Engineers to support wireless network design and optimization activity across Verizon-focused programs in Dallas, Houston, and Tampa. This role is responsible for designing and optimizing 5G, LTE, and legacy CDMA networks, supporting both new site builds and network overlay activity, and ensuring RF performance, coverage, and capacity objectives are met.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Verizon RF design tools and processes, including FUZE SPM for project creation, updates, regulatory workflows, and design documentation. Candidates should also have strong experience using Atoll for automatic cell planning, PCI planning, neighbor list creation, coverage plot generation, and pre- and post-design analysis. This individual will help estimate improved coverage, model design changes, and ensure site input data is accurately reflected within the design environment.
Additional responsibilities include drive test analysis and performance troubleshooting using ActixOne and Actix Analyzer, along with support for drive teams using TEMS and DMAT for setup, licensing, and troubleshooting. The engineer will also prepare and review RF affidavits and supporting documentation for site development and zoning requirements and may be required to present at zoning hearings as needed. Experience evaluating design restrictions such as physical limitations, co-locations, and EMF constraints is important, along with the ability to recommend practical RF design solutions.
Candidates should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced wireless environment. A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Prior Verizon RF design knowledge is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize 5G, LTE, and CDMA wireless networks
- Use Verizon FUZE SPM to create projects, updates, and design documents
- Create neighbor lists and perform PCI planning for 5G nodes using Atoll
- Generate coverage plots and complete pre- and post-analysis for RF designs
- Support regulatory task resolution and HQ approval workflows
- Analyze LTE and 5G drive test data using ActixOne and Actix Analyzer
- Support TEMS and DMAT drive test activities including setup, licensing, and troubleshooting
- Prepare RF affidavits and zoning support documentation
- Present RF design information at zoning hearings when required
- Evaluate site constraints and provide design recommendations for 5G/LTE overlays
- Create and present RF performance reports to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
- Strong RF design and optimization experience in 5G/LTE wireless networks
- Experience with Atoll, FUZE SPM, Actix, TEMS, and DMAT preferred
- Verizon RF design knowledge strongly preferred
- Must be located in the United States
