Travel: You will need a full drivers licence and your own car as occasional travel will be required.

Overview:
A well-established organisation in the financial services sector is seeking a seasoned IT Operations Manager to oversee and enhance its technology environment. This is a strategic role reporting directly to senior leadership, offering the opportunity to shape infrastructure and service delivery across a growing enterprise. The successful candidate will lead operational IT functions, drive performance improvements, and ensure robust security and continuity across systems.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Lead the management of core IT infrastructure including cloud platforms, networks, servers, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Supervise internal IT staff, supporting their development and performance.
  • Align infrastructure operations with business continuity and recovery frameworks.
  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure high-quality delivery of IT services.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and performance tuning across systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors to maintain compliance and security standards.
  • Oversee helpdesk and support functions, ensuring responsive service.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT governance policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and licensing agreements.
  • Maintain documentation and procedures to support operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:
You bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior IT operations or infrastructure role.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Office 365).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with ITSM methodologies such as ITIL.
  • Technical expertise in system configuration, network protocols, and data protection.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities.
  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance is a plus.
