DevOps Software Engineer - Contract

Software Engineer (Full-Stack) - 3-5 Years Experience
We're looking for a proactive software engineer to contribute to the development and evolution of our platform. This position suits a full-stack developer who is particularly strong on the backend and has familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new functionality within the Release Orchestrator application
- Develop and improve user-facing features using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Build and support backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
- Connect the platform with external systems such as CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CloudBees), GitHub, and other engineering utilities
- Implement and manage release processes, including environment progression (Dev → QA → Production) and approval workflows
- Create dashboards and visual tools for monitoring releases, pipeline activity, repository data, and system integrations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to turn governance and compliance needs into practical technical solutions
- Produce maintainable, well-tested, and clearly documented code
- Take part in peer code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and architectural discussions
- Diagnose issues and resolve bugs across existing features
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in software development roles
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands-on experience in React and/or Next.js
- Solid backend development experience using Python (FastAPI or comparable frameworks)
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and webhooks
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and release lifecycle processes
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker (advantageous)
- Experience with cloud services, ideally AWS
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience integrating with Jenkins or CloudBees APIs
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, security scanning tools, or artifact repositories
- Background in building internal platforms or developer-facing dashboards
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
- Exposure to AI/ML use cases (e.g., automated test generation, analytics)
- Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL
