We're partnering with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to help develop, automate and scale their cloud-native infrastructure environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building robust Kubernetes platforms, driving automation, and working with modern cloud technologies in a highly collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, build and support Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure.Drive automation across infrastructure and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code principles.Develop and maintain tooling using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Python and Go.Enhance platform reliability, scalability, security and performance.Implement and improve observability, monitoring and alerting solutions.Work closely with engineering teams to support cloud-native application deployments.Contribute to CI/CD and GitOps-driven delivery practices.Research and introduce new technologies and best practices across the platform estate.Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve engineering efficiency and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

Strong experience within Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.Proven hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production environments.Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling, including Terraform and Ansible.Development or scripting experience with Python, Go or similar technologies.Experience with cloud-native tooling, containers, CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress, TLS and firewalls.Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to work effectively within fast-paced, collaborative engineering teams.

Desirable Experience

Kubernetes certifications such as CKA.Experience with Kubernetes security, governance and policy management.Exposure to service mesh technologies.Cloud platform certifications across AWS, Azure or GCP.Experience introducing new technologies and driving platform improvements at scale.

Key Responsibilities

AWS Security Architecture

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Partner with Cyber Security, Risk, and Cloud Governance teams to align AWS security controls with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.Conduct threat modelling, security architecture reviews, and risk assessments for AWS-hosted solutions.Support compliance initiatives aligned to frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark, NIST, and SOC 2.Ensure security monitoring, logging, detection, and response capabilities are appropriately designed and implemented across AWS environments.Provide expert advice on cloud security risks and remediation strategies.

Desired Experience

Proven experience as an AWS Security Architect or similar cloud-focused security role.Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture and AWS security best practices.Strong hands-on experience implementing AWS-native security controls across enterprise-scale environments.Experience designing secure multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.Expertise in AWS IAM, networking, security monitoring, encryption, secrets management, and security operations.Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code security principles using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines.Understanding of cloud security frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Overview

Key Responsibilities

Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting solutions within AWS cloud environments.Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.Commercial experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, and enterprise infrastructure design.Experience implementing IAM, security controls, and cloud governance frameworks.Background working within DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Cloud Operations functions.Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.Strong Linux administration skills.Experience with monitoring, observability, and operational tooling.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and application layers.Understanding of modern application architectures, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and support Microsoft Entra ID solutions across the organisation.

Lead the implementation and optimisation of Conditional Access policies and authentication controls.

Configure and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Passwordless Authentication and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).

Drive Zero Trust identity initiatives and improve the organisation's overall security posture.

Manage identity lifecycle processes, including Joiner, Mover and Leaver workflows.
