Senior Project Manager (Fintech / Payments / AI Platform)

Location: Remote (U.S. - Eastern Time preferred)
Duration: 12-month contract (strong likelihood of extension or full-time conversion)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-priority initiatives within a large-scale payments technology environment. This role will play a key part in driving the delivery of AI-enabled enhancements across a modern point-of-sale (POS) platform.

You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, data, and business teams, helping deliver innovative capabilities that empower merchants with better insights and decision-making tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of cross-functional projects spanning engineering, data, product, and infrastructure teams
  • Own project planning, timelines, risk management, and dependency tracking to ensure successful outcomes
  • Collaborate with Agile teams and Scrum Masters to maintain alignment across parallel workstreams
  • Partner with risk, compliance, and security stakeholders to integrate regulatory requirements into delivery
  • Provide clear, consistent communication to leadership, including executive-level status updates
  • Support the launch of AI-driven features and advanced analytics within a payments/POS ecosystem
  • Ensure initiatives align with strategic goals, business priorities, and key performance metrics

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of project or program management experience in dynamic environments
  • Strong background in fintech, payments, or transaction-based platforms
  • Experience working in regulated environments with exposure to compliance and security considerations
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional programs from initiation through delivery
  • Strong execution skills paired with the ability to align work to broader business strategy
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, including senior leadership interaction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with POS systems or merchant-facing technologies
  • Exposure to AI, data platforms, or analytics-driven product development
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and multi-team delivery environments
