Fiber Optics Engineer

About the Role
We're building production lines for a brand new fiber optic connector product driven by AI data center demand. We're looking for a senior engineer to own machine vision across our custom automated equipment. You'll lead 2D and 3D inspection and measurement, imaging system design and vision integration with machine controls, including in process inspection that replaces high cost microscope stations. You'll be our go to vision expert.

What You'll Do

Design and specify vision stations, selecting cameras, lenses, lighting and sensors for each inspection
Develop and tune 2D and 3D inspection and measurement algorithms, primarily in Keyence
Write custom inspection logic in Python, C++ or C# where standard tools fall short
Integrate vision results with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs and machine logic over industrial networks
Calibrate and validate vision systems for repeatable, high uptime performance
Connect inspection data to SCADA, MES, SQL or Power BI for traceability and quality tracking
Troubleshoot vision related machine issues and lead root cause analysis
Write test procedures, wiring diagrams and calibration documentation

What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a related field
5+ years of hands on automation experience, with deep expertise in machine vision
Expert image processing skills: blob analysis, edge detection, pattern matching, OCR and 2D code reading
Keyence 2D and 3D measurement experience strongly preferred. Cognex VisionPro, OpenCV or HALCON also valued
Experience interfacing vision systems with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff or Siemens) and HMIs
Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus or Profibus
Strong analytical and root cause problem solving skills

Nice to Have
Python, C++ or C# for custom algorithm development

ISP Fiber (Rack & Stack)

As an ISP Fiber Eng, you will be responsible for the hands on installation, racking, and cabling of fiber and network infrastructure supporting inside plant (ISP) environments, including data center/POP site.
