Location: London (Fully Remote)
Engagement: Fractional (2-3 days per week)
Duration: 6-12 Months
Rate: £1000pd+ (Outside IR35)
The Opportunity
GCS Cyber are partnering with a rapidly growing PE backed FinTech firm as they scale their security capability and mature their overall cyber posture.
This is a Fractional CISO engagement, ideal for a senior security leader who can provide strategic direction while remaining hands-on where needed.
You'll be working closely with the executive team, helping shape security strategy in line with business growth, regulatory expectations, and investor confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the cyber security strategy and roadmap
- Engage with C-suite and board-level stakeholders
- Assess and mature existing security posture, governance, and risk frameworks
- Lead regulatory alignment (e.g. FCA, ISO 27001, SOC2)
- Oversee third-party risk and supplier assurance
- Support incident response planning and crisis readiness
- Provide guidance on security architecture and tooling decisions
- Build and mentor internal security capability where required
Experience Required
- Proven experience operating as a CISO or Fractional CISO
- Strong background within FinTech / Financial Services environments
- Experience working with regulated frameworks (FCA, ISO 27001, SOC2)
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
- Strong stakeholder management across exec and board level
- Experience supporting high-growth or scaling organisations
