About the Role
We are seeking a Oracle DBA who has an understanding of SRE practices to join one of the major financial institutions in the Northwest. You'd play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Availability & Performance: Proactively monitor, maintain, and plan capacity for system reliability, scalability, and observability.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventative measures for outages.
  • Automation: Develop tools and scripts to automate operational tasks, enhancing efficiency and resilience.
  • System Optimization: Identify and address bottlenecks, applying performance tuning best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work with development teams to integrate reliability, observability, and scalabilityinto the SDLC.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay updated on technology trends and contribute to internal communities.

Essential Skills & Experience

My client is ideally looking for:

  • Oracle Expertise: Deep knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Internet Directory (OID), and Oracle database performance tuning.
  • LDAPProtocols: Strong understanding of LDAP protocols and directory services.
  • SQLOptimization: Proficiency in SQL optimization.
  • Scripting: Advanced skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Monitoring Systems: Experience with tools like Prometheus and Grafana, with a focus on observability.
