Fiber Operator
Location: Shakopee, MN
About the Role
CommScope is seeking detail-oriented Fiber Operators to join our production team in Shakopee, MN. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on assembly work, have excellent manual dexterity, and take pride in producing high-quality products with precision and consistency.
No prior fiber optics experience is required. CommScope provides comprehensive training and opportunities for career growth, including advancement into Fiber Technician roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on fiber assembly and production tasks using specialized table-mounted tools.
- Execute cutting, stripping, cleaning, and preparation processes according to established work instructions and specifications.
- Work under microscopes and magnification equipment to complete precision assembly tasks.
- Follow visual work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
- Capture photos and complete basic production documentation as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with technicians and production team members to support manufacturing operations.
- Consistently produce high-quality work while meeting productivity expectations.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Experience in small-parts assembly, manufacturing, electronics, PCB assembly, medical device production, or similar precision work preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with microscopes, small components, and precision tools.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow written and visual instructions accurately.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.

Fiber Operators are skilled production specialists focused on precision assembly. This role does not include:
- Making final product measurement determinations.
- Interpreting engineering tolerances or specifications.
- Owning final pass/fail quality decisions.
These responsibilities are managed by Fiber Technicians and quality personnel.
