Fiber Operator

Location: Shakopee, MN

Position Overview

We are looking for detail-oriented and reliable Fiber Operators to support precision manufacturing and assembly operations. This role is ideal for individuals with strong manual dexterity who enjoy hands-on, repetitive work requiring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.

No prior fiber optics experience is required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on assembly of fiber optic components using table-mounted and specialized production tools.
  • Execute cutting, stripping, cleaning, and preparation processes according to detailed work instructions.
  • Work under microscopes and follow visual assembly guidelines to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Capture production photos and complete basic documentation as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support technicians and work within a designated area of the production line.
  • Adhere to established manufacturing procedures and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and excellent fine motor skills.
  • Previous experience in small-parts assembly, electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, medical device manufacturing, or similar precision production environments preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.
  • Comfortable using microscopes, precision tools, and following detailed instructions.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Basic communication skills with the ability to ask questions and follow instructions effectively.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
