Job Description

A global fiber manufacturing customer which is a global leader in broadband connectivity, Fiber and copper cabling, wireless infrastructure, and advanced network solutions. The Shakopee, MN facility is part of advanced manufacturing group, focused on next‑generation Fiber connectivity technologies now transitioning under the Amphenol acquisition. GCS is associated with the customer, and we are top U.S. staffing partner, supporting engineering, R&D, manufacturing, Fiber, and wireless programs.

All Assembly technicians will be cross‑trained across every station to ensure scalability and flexibility. Senior technicians are currently validating the first stations, and the team will be expanding by Dec 2026 and hiring is going on. This is hands‑on, lab‑based build work involving assembly, inspection, equipment operation, documentation, and quality assurance.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will be given 6 weeks of ongoing paid work training sessions if you have no fiber/cable experience as it is a part of process.
  • Perform hands‑on Fiber assembly on a prototype product line.
  • Use microscopes, crimpers, stripping tools, epoxies, and precision assembly equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks at assigned stations.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and SOPs.
  • Document production results, measurements, and build notes (Excel/internal logs)
  • Rotate across all stations to eventually build the full product end‑to‑end
  • Work in a lab and manufacturing floor environment - not an office role

Required Experience

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Any technician with Bio-medical, medical device, electronics, electrical, mechanical or electro‑mechanical, fiber or cable, manufacturing or Production background/assembly background will work(cable harness, PCB assembly, medical device, aerospace, robotics, automotive, machine assembly, etc.)
  • Comfort using small tools: crimpers, cutters, microscopes, calipers, tweezers.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and document work accurately.
