OTDR Fiber Splicer Lead
About the Opportunity
Were working with a fast-growing fiber infrastructure contractor building out mission-critical data center connectivity. Were looking for a skilled OTDR Lead to join the field crew - someone who knows fiber splicing inside and out and is ready to be the go-to expert on-site.
What Youll Do
● Splice, troubleshoot, and test fiber both aerial and underground
● Repair cable cuts and out-of-service drops as they come up
● Test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits once installation wraps
● Keep splicing work within the clients strict quality standards
● Handle underground fiber transfers and pitch in on general labor as needed
● Work comfortably at height and below grade - poles, ladders, confined spaces, all of it
● Track your work through daily reports: mark up maps and log material usage accurately
● Mentor and direct less experienced techs on-site to keep the crew safe and on-task
What You Bring
● 4+ years of hands-on experience splicing, placing, and testing fiber
● Valid, non-provisional drivers license with a clean record
● Ability to pass a DOT physical and hold a valid medical card
● High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
● 18 years or older, authorized to work in the U.S.
● Pole-climbing certification (or ability to demonstrate proficiency) a plus
● General knowledge of telecom network structure
Good to Know
● Physically demanding role: heights, confined spaces, remote locations, and lifting 55+ lbs regularly
● Occasional use of ladders/gaffs for pole climbing
Compensation & Benefits
$40-$50/hour depending on experience, plus weekly pay, PTO/parental leave/holidays, full medical/dental/vision/life/disability coverage, 401(k) with company match, stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, legal insurance, and more.
