About the Opportunity
Join an innovative manufacturing and engineering team focused on developing next-generation fiber connectivity products. This position supports the launch of a brand-new pilot manufacturing line dedicated to building prototype fiber cable and connector solutions.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a ground-up operation where new processes, equipment, and production methods are being established. The team is building and validating a new assembly line and is seeking technicians who enjoy hands-on work in a technical manufacturing environment.
Project Overview
The pilot production line includes multiple stages of the manufacturing process, including:
- Sorting
- Stripping
- Prepping
- Coating
- Assembly
- Inspection
- Testing
- Documentation
Technicians will receive cross-training across all workstations to develop a strong understanding of the complete manufacturing process and support operational flexibility.
This role is primarily hands-on and involves assembly, inspection, equipment operation, testing, documentation, and quality assurance activities within a laboratory and manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on assembly of fiber-based products and components.
- Operate precision assembly tools and equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Follow detailed work instructions, procedures, drawings, and standard operating guidelines.
- Record production data, measurements, and build information accurately.
- Assist with identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating product or process issues.
- Rotate through multiple production stations and learn the full assembly process.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support project goals.
Qualifications
No prior fiber optic experience is required. Training will be provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, production, technician, or other hands-on work environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with hand tools, small components, and precision equipment.
- Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and process documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately record production information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with assembly, inspection, testing, or quality-related activities.
- Familiarity with measuring devices, microscopes, or precision tools.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, laboratory, or technical production environment.
- Hands-on manufacturing and laboratory setting.
- Standing, moving between workstations, and performing detailed assembly tasks throughout the shift.
