Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Engineer to support fiber network testing, troubleshooting, and remediation activities across ISP and OSP environments. This role will focus on OTDR analysis, fiber characterization, bidirectional testing, and documenting findings to ensure network performance and reliability.

Senior Fiber Engineer

100% Remote

12+ Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Analyst with strong expertise in OTDR testing, Bi-Directional Testing, Fiber Characterization (CD/PMD), and ISP/OSP fiber networks. This role will focus on fiber network validation, troubleshooting, remediation, and reporting while collaborating with vendors, project managers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Perform OTDR, Bi-Directional, CD/PMD, and power meter testing on fiber networks.
Analyze fiber routes and identify faults, splices, bends, and signal loss issues.
Troubleshoot and remediate fiber problems through fusion splicing and connector cleaning.
Create detailed test reports, redlines, and demarcation documentation.
Work closely with vendors and project teams to validate network performance.
Travel to customer sites when required for testing and remediation activities.

Required Qualifications
5+ years of fiber telecom experience.
Strong ISP & OSP fiber network knowledge.
Hands-on experience with OTDR and Bi-Directional Testing.
Experience with CD/PMD testing and optical loss analysis.
Fusion splicing and fiber troubleshooting expertise.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
