We are seeking a Software Engineer to help develop and support an IoT platform connecting quality control hardware with cloud-based systems. This role will focus on building the software and data infrastructure required to collect information from edge devices, securely transmit it to the cloud, and make that data available for analysis.
The ideal candidate will have strong Python and AWS experience, along with hands-on knowledge of IoT communication protocols and edge computing. Candidates with experience applying machine learning and anomaly detection to real-world device data are highly encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain software applications that support IoT-enabled quality control equipment.Develop Python-based solutions for NVIDIA Jetson and other edge computing devices.Create and maintain reliable pipelines that move data from physical hardware to cloud environments.Implement device communication and data transfer using MQTT and AWS IoT.Leverage AWS Lambda and Amazon S3 to process, manage, and store IoT data.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across edge devices, networks, and cloud infrastructure.Work with engineering teams to translate hardware-generated data into usable software and analytics solutions.Assist with testing and deployment of new IoT software capabilities.Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of existing data workflows.Explore opportunities to use machine learning and anomaly detection to identify quality issues or unusual patterns in collected data.Required Skills & ExperienceProfessional experience developing applications with Python.Experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS IoT, Lambda, and S3.Working knowledge of MQTT and IoT communication.Experience developing or deploying applications on edge computing devices, ideally NVIDIA Jetson.Experience building hardware-to-cloud data pipelines or ingestion workflows.Strong understanding of software development, debugging, and system integration.Ability to work effectively across software, hardware, and cloud environments.Preferred ExperienceMachine learning or data science experience.Experience with anomaly detection models.Background working with IoT, manufacturing, industrial automation, or quality-control technologies.Experience deploying ML models or applications directly to edge devices.Familiarity with real-time data processing and analytics.GCS is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
