Job Description :
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Tester (Automation) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our video streaming platform used by millions of viewers across devices. You will play a critical role in validating seamless playback, UI/UX consistency, content availability, and platform stability using modern test automation tools, with a strong focus on Cypress.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for web-based applications
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing across video streaming workflows
- Validate video playback, buffering, bitrate switching, subtitles, DRM behavior, and error handling
- Test user journeys including authentication, subscriptions, search, recommendations, and watch history
- Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing (desktop, mobile, smart TVs where applicable)
- Conduct API testing to validate backend services and content delivery endpoints
- Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release validation
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the CI/CD pipeline
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in QA testing (manual and automation)
- Strong hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end testing
- Solid understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience testing web-based applications across multiple browsers
- Knowledge of video streaming concepts such as HLS/DASH, buffering, adaptive bitrate, and CDN behavior
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Cypress API testing, or similar)
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency in defect tracking tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Understanding of CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Experience testing OTT or media streaming platforms
- Exposure to performance or load testing tools
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of DRM systems (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay)
- Basic SQL or database validation experience
- Familiarity with accessibility testing standards (WCAG)
