Key Responsibilities

Middleware & Embedded Development

  • Work within the middleware layer to ensure smooth communication between applications and hardware.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain embedded system functionalities.
  • Support integration of SoC vendor provided software, ensuring compatibility and performance.

Debugging & System Analysis

  • Diagnose complex issues across middleware, network stack, and hardware interaction.
  • Analyse Wi Fi packet protocols, IP traffic, and higher level network behaviours.
  • Use logs, traces, and debugging tools to identify root causes and deliver fixes.

Protocol & Connectivity Work

  • Work with IP based protocols including DHCP, DNS, TCP/UDP, HTTP, and higher level APIs.

ir* Understand and debug packet level behaviour in wireless connectivity systems.

  • Collaborate with network and platform teams to optimise communication paths.

Software Development

  • Write clean, maintainable, low level code in C for embedded platforms.
  • Improve existing features, enhance stability, and optimise performance.
  • Support ongoing system upgrades and feature rollouts.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with SoC vendors, platform architects, and QA teams.
  • Participate in technical discussions, solution design, and code reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands on experience in embedded systems development.
  • Good understanding of middleware frameworks (RDK experience highly preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of C programming in a resource constrained environment.
  • Experience working with System on Chip (SoC) vendor software (e.g. Broadcom, Qualcomm).
  • Understanding of:

o IP networking fundamentals

o Wi Fi packet protocols & wireless communication

o HTTP and higher level network protocols

  • Proven ability to debug low level system issues.
  • Experience with Linux based embedded systems.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in RDK B or RDK V.
  • Exposure to DOCSIS, broadband gateways, or set top box devices.
  • Knowledge of Wi Fi certification or testing tools (e.g. Wireshark, Aircrack, iPerf).
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) for automation or testing.
