We are seeking detail-oriented Fiber Assembly Technicians to support the launch of a new prototype manufacturing line focused on next-generation fiber connectivity products. This is a hands-on role within a research and manufacturing environment, involving the assembly, inspection, testing, and documentation of fiber optic components and connectors.
Technicians will be cross-trained across multiple workstations and production processes, contributing to the build and validation of a new product from start to finish. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly experience who enjoy precision work and working in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on assembly of fiber optic components and prototype products.
- Operate precision tools and equipment, including microscopes, crimpers, stripping tools, cutters, and other assembly instruments.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet established standards.
- Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Record production data, measurements, test results, and build documentation using spreadsheets and internal tracking systems.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report assembly issues, defects, or process deviations to the engineering team.
- Rotate across multiple production stations and become proficient in the complete product build process.
- Support manufacturing, testing, and process improvement activities in a laboratory and production environment.
- Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in medical industry orelectro-mechanical assembly or robotics manufacturing environments such as:
- Cable harness assembly
- PCB assembly
- Medical device manufacturing
- Aerospace manufacturing
- Robotics assembly
- Automotive manufacturing
- Machine or equipment assembly
- Ability to work with small, delicate components and perform precision assembly tasks.
- Experience using hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, calipers, tweezers, and microscopes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and technical documentation.
- Basic computer skills and experience documenting work accurately.
