  • Participate in projects involving network expansion, upgrades, migrations, and new service deployments.

What You Will Learn

  • Practical experience with telecommunications transport networks and network infrastructure.

  • Fundamentals of optical transport and fiber-based network technologies.

  • Transport technologies such as DWDM, OTN, SONET, Ethernet, and carrier transport.

  • Network provisioning, circuit turn-up, service activation, and acceptance testing.

  • Transport network troubleshooting and fault-isolation techniques.

  • How network equipment and optical infrastructure operate within carrier environments.

  • Network monitoring, performance analysis, and outage restoration processes.

  • Fiber and optical testing methodologies.

  • How enterprise and wholesale telecommunications services are delivered across transport networks.

  • Network documentation, configuration management, and operational procedures.

  • Experience working with engineering, operations, field-service, and customer-facing teams.

  • Career development toward Senior Transport Engineer, Optical Engineer, Network Engineer, Transport Network Architect, or Network Operations roles.
