Overview

We are seeking two experienced ISP Engineers to support the design and development of fiber network infrastructure within Point of Presence (PoP) sites. This role focuses on creating and maintaining detailed infrastructure designs, developing Statements of Work (SOWs), and producing high-quality AutoCAD documentation to support large-scale network expansion projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center environments, fiber network infrastructure, and advanced AutoCAD design, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop ISP fiber network layouts for PoP sites and data center environments.Create and maintain detailed AutoCAD drawings, templates, and documentation based on as-built designs.Produce and update network infrastructure drawings and associated project deliverables.Develop comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) and design packages through various project stages.Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to review, refine, and finalize infrastructure designs.Support architecture and infrastructure planning activities.Build, modify, and maintain CAD/BIM models of network sites and data center facilities.Ensure designs comply with project standards, quality requirements, and operational best practices.Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver completed design packages according to schedule.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience designing and supporting ISP fiber network infrastructure.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).Experience working with PoP sites, data centers, or network infrastructure environments.Strong understanding of physical network layouts, rack elevations, fiber routing, and infrastructure design.Experience developing and managing SOW packages and technical documentation.Knowledge of fiber optic network architecture and deployment practices.Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings and as-built documentation.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred ExperienceExperience with both ISP fiber network environments.Familiarity with BIM modeling and data center design tools.Background in telecommunications, network infrastructure, or fiber-optic engineering.Experience supporting large-scale data center or network expansion projects.

Role Summary:

Responsible for leading field teams performing installation services in live, mission‑critical data center environments. Acts as the subject matter expert for fiber optic installation, testing, and complex troubleshooting. Oversees all installation and cabling services, QA/QC activities, and mentors L1/L2 technicians. Performs data center audits, mounts and replaces network equipment, manages fiber cabling, and collaborates with network engineers on ticketing issues related to equipment and hardware.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

5+ years in data center, structured cabling, or field service environments.Documented fiber optic testing experience at scale, including complex troubleshooting.Certification in OTDR and OLTS fiber testing.Experience leading installation teams in live, mission‑critical data centers.High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Desirable Skills & Ideal Background:

Strong knowledge of fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing.Proficiency with OTDR and OLTS testing equipment.Understanding of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6/6A, SM/MM fiber).Experience with server hardware, network devices, rack/stack, patch panels, and cable dressing.Familiarity with PON or point‑to‑multipoint networks.Experience with full data center construction, rack setup, and cabling.

End Product of the Project

Build and manage the data center and bring neighboring‑state facilities up to standard.Ensure all installation services meet technical, quality, and safety requirements.Deliver accurate, compliant QA/QC documentation.Develop L1/L2 technicians to meet performance expectations.

Day‑to‑Day Duties

Act as liaison for new data center builds and retrofit projects.Manage scheduling, perform physical audits, and track required updates.Lead field teams executing installation services to technical, QA, QC, and safety standards.Define scope, work plans, procedures, and field execution activities.
