Build the Data Platform Behind Enterprise Analytics
We're looking for an experienced Java Data Engineer to join a growing Data Engineering team responsible for building the next generation of cloud-based data solutions. In this role, you'll help modernize enterprise data platforms by developing scalable ETL pipelines, enhancing legacy applications, and delivering reliable data assets that power business intelligence and analytics.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across software engineering and data engineering, building cloud-native solutions using AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake while leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
What You'll Be Working On
As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will:
- Develop and maintain enterprise data pipelines that move and transform data into Databricks.
- Build Java applications and microservices that support data processing and integration.
- Partner with product owners and engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows for high-volume datasets.
- Build and support cloud-native data solutions using AWS services.
- Develop infrastructure using Terraform to automate cloud resource provisioning.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Concourse.
- Improve existing legacy ETL jobs while supporting ongoing cloud migration initiatives.
- Perform testing, quality assurance, and technical documentation throughout the software lifecycle.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and improve platform reliability.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate single points of failure and improve system resiliency.
- Collaborate with engineers to establish development standards and engineering best practices.
We're Looking For Someone With
Required Skills
- 7+ years of Java software engineering experience
- Strong experience with Spring Boot
- Experience developing Microservices
- Hands-on experience with ETL development or Data Engineering
- AWS cloud development experience
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with Databricks
- Experience with Snowflake
- Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Concourse, or similar CI/CD tools
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience
- Experience working within Agile development teams
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating legacy ETL processes to cloud platforms
- Knowledge of Tableau or enterprise reporting environments
- Experience supporting analytics platforms
- Understanding of data modeling and cloud data architecture
- Exposure to DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
