Network Engineer (Daily Rate Contract)
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team on a long-term daily rate contract based in Dublin City Centre. This role requires 5 days per week onsite and will play a key role in the design, support, optimisation and security of critical network infrastructure across a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain routing, switching, wireless and network security technologies.
- Administer firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and secure remote access solutions.
- Monitor network performance, availability and security, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Investigate and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation and incident response activities.
- Maintain network documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors on network projects and upgrades.
Required Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Network Engineering within enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs and wireless networking.
- Experience managing enterprise firewall and network security technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex network infrastructures.
- Experience supporting multi-site environments.
- Exposure to Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Cisco Meraki switches, wireless and SD-WAN solutions.
- Knowledge of network access control, 802.1X and RADIUS.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, Network+ or equivalent.
