Job Summary
Our client is looking for an experienced Embedded Software/Middleware Engineer to work on connected-device and networking platforms.
This position is ideal for an engineer with a combination of C programming, Embedded Linux, middleware, Wi-Fi/networking, and hardware integration experience. Candidates with experience in RDK-B/RDK-V, broadband gateways, routers, DOCSIS, or consumer networking products are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded middleware software.
- Develop and debug production-quality C code on Linux-based embedded platforms.
- Integrate middleware with SoC vendor software and hardware platforms.
- Support system bring-up, software integration, and platform validation.
- Investigate issues involving Linux, middleware, networking, Wi-Fi, and hardware.
- Analyze network traffic and Wi-Fi behavior to identify connectivity and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and related network protocols.
- Perform detailed debugging and root-cause analysis of complex system issues.
- Work closely with QA, architecture, hardware, and external technology vendors.
- Optimize software performance, reliability, and system stability.
- Develop scripts using Python or Bash when required for testing and troubleshooting.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong C programming skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with Embedded Linux.
- Experience with embedded middleware or platform software.
- Solid knowledge of networking and IP protocols.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi/wireless connectivity.
- Experience with system integration and embedded platform bring-up.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
