Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Capacity, Forecasting & Automation
We're looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong analytical mindset to join a fast-moving cloud capacity engineering team.
This position is ideal for someone who understands infrastructure but also enjoys working with data, building models, forecasting growth, and creating automation that makes infrastructure planning more efficient.
You'll serve as a subject matter expert around cloud infrastructure capacity and work across application development, infrastructure, deployment, operations, procurement, and finance teams.
What You'll Do
- Design and support capacity planning solutions for private cloud infrastructure
- Build tools that size and forecast infrastructure requirements
- Develop models to predict future compute resource requirements
- Analyze utilization and performance of compute and storage resources
- Support capacity management for VM and container platforms
- Forecast data center power, rack, and cooling requirements
- Assist with cloud infrastructure architecture and design
- Help validate infrastructure designs, bills of materials, and procurement requirements
- Partner with compute, storage, and network engineers
- Provide recommendations around infrastructure scaling and future growth
- Identify opportunities to reclaim unused or underutilized capacity
- Analyze capacity thresholds and identify potential infrastructure risks
- Support infrastructure budgeting and future technology demand planning
- Build and improve automated processes and capacity planning tools
- Document planning processes and communicate recommendations across technical teams
What You Bring
- 3-5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, infrastructure engineering, capacity planning, or a related field
- Experience with private cloud or enterprise infrastructure
- Knowledge of compute platforms, virtualization, storage, and networking
- Experience with infrastructure forecasting, modeling, or utilization analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience building automation or improving technical processes
- Ability to work across application and infrastructure teams
Why This Role?
You won't simply be maintaining infrastructure. You'll help determine how infrastructure should grow, where capacity is needed, how resources are being utilized, and how the organization can plan and spend more efficiently.
If you're an infrastructure engineer who enjoys capacity modeling, forecasting, automation, and solving large-scale infrastructure problems, this role offers an opportunity to work on some very large and complex environments.
