Job Summary
A leading robotics organisation is building the control system that will run conveyors across fulfilment centres in the US - replacing equipment control systems from 31 different vendors with one modern, software-defined platform. The first building is being built now. Many more follow. And they need a new generation of controls engineers to configure, test and commission it.
That's where you come in. GCS Tech Talent and The Innovation Hub are launching the Robotics Controls Academy: a structured programme that takes early-career electrical and controls engineers, trains you intensively on the platform and processes, and deploys you into engineering teams to work on real buildings.

What you'll do
- Translate electrical drawings and I/O lists into application configurations
- Test configurations in simulation and on real hardware - EtherCAT devices, motorised rollers, sensors, safety I/O
- Support commissioning on site as buildings go live
- Work like a software engineer: Git, code review, daily standups, estimates
Who we're looking for
- Degree or diploma in electrical engineering, EE technology, mechatronics - or equivalent hands-on experience as a controls technician or PLC programmer (roughly 0-4 years)
- Hands-on PLC exposure on any platform - Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, CODESYS, B&R, Schneider
- Comfortable reading schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O lists
- Some programming logic in any language and the appetite to learn text-based code and version control
- Curious, hands-on, and good at working out why something isn't working
- Able to be onsite in Seattle for training and initial deployment, and to travel or relocate for building deployments (Atlanta first)
- Bonus: conveyor or material-handling experience, Structured Text, AutoCAD Electrical, commissioning, Git, Linux
