Hiring a Controls Technician / PLC Programmer - Step Up to Controls Engineer (Robotics Academy)

If you've spent
the last few years on the floor programming and troubleshooting PLCs, reading
drawings, and keeping conveyors and packaging lines running - and you're ready
to move from keeping systems alive to building them - this is the programme.

Robotics
is building one control platform for every fulfilment centre. GCS Tech
Talent and The Innovation Hub are recruiting hands-on controls technicians and
PLC programmers into a Controls Academy: an intensive onsite bootcamp in
Seattle that teaches you the platform and the software workflow (Git, code
review - we teach it, you don't need it yet), then deployment into engineering
teams configuring, testing and commissioning control areas in real
buildings. Monthly training continues, you earn an accreditation, and the
strongest engineers may find a pathway to a full-time career.

We're
looking for

1-4 years
hands-on with PLCs on any platform (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, B&R,
Schneider, CODESYS) including programming or modifying logic; confident reading
schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O lists; experience with sensors, drives,
motors and safety circuits; the kind of person who works out why it failed, not
just that it did; able to be onsite in Seattle and travel or relocate for
deployments (Atlanta first). Conveyor / material-handling experience is a big
plus.

Join a structured train-to-deploy program where you'll receive intensive onsite training in Seattle and then work on real-world automation projects configuring, testing, and commissioning conveyor control systems in fulfillment centers.

What You'll Do:

Configure control applications from electrical drawings and I/O lists
Test solutions in simulation and on real hardware
Support commissioning and troubleshooting on live deployments
Work with PLCs, EtherCAT devices, sensors, motors, safety I/O, and Git-based workflows

What We're Looking For:

Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics
Hands-on PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, CODESYS, B&R, Schneider, etc.)
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O lists
Basic programming knowledge (Structured Text, Python, C, Ladder Logic, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work onsite in Seattle and travel/relocate for deployment projects

Nice to Have:
Conveyor or material handling experience
Structured Text programming
AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
FAT/SAT, commissioning, or field startup experience
Git, Linux, JSON, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, or Profinet
