⚡ Critical Facilities / Controls Technicians Wanted - AWS Data Centers
📍 North Carolina: Hamlet + Northeast Charlotte / I-485 area
🔧 Fully Onsite | 12-Month Contract | Multiple Positions
If your background is in controls, electrical systems, HVAC automation, instrumentation, commissioning, SCADA, or critical facilities, this could be a strong transition into the data center industry.
We're hiring technicians to support AWS data center controls infrastructure across multiple sites in Virginia and North Carolina.
You don't need to come directly from a hyperscale data center.
We're looking for hands-on technicians who understand how electrical, mechanical, and control systems interact and who are comfortable troubleshooting equipment in environments where uptime and safety matter.
Relevant experience could include:🔹 Building Automation / BAS / BMS
🔹 HVAC controls
🔹 Instrumentation & Controls
🔹 E&I / Electrical Controls
🔹 SCADA
🔹 Commissioning
🔹 Critical facilities
🔹 Electrical maintenance
🔹 Industrial controls
🔹 Low-voltage systems
🔹 Power generation / utilities
🔹 Hospital facilities
🔹 Nuclear facilities
🔹 Water / wastewater
🔹 Oil & gas
🔹 Military electronics, electrical, HVAC, power production, or controls
You'll support the deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems responsible for monitoring and controlling cooling and electrical infrastructure inside AWS data centers.
That can include:
* Sensors, relays, controllers, and HMIs
* Point-to-point checks
* BMS / BAS systems
* Electrical power monitoring
* Troubleshooting communication issues
* BACnet / Modbus / MQTT
* Low-voltage copper and fiber
* Reading electrical and mechanical drawings
* Supporting commissioning and system testing
* Following MOPs, procedures, and change-control processes
* Working with vendors and low-voltage contractors
This is a technician-level, hands-on role rather than a design-engineering or pure programming position.
We're especially interested in people who have worked in environments where equipment reliability, operating procedures, and safety are critical.
📍 Fully onsite in either the Fredericksburg / Stafford / Louisa, VA market or the Hamlet / Northeast Charlotte I-485, NC market.
If your experience sits anywhere around controls + electrical + mechanical + critical infrastructure, reach out!

🔹 Point-to-point checkout and commissioning
🔹 Loading software and configurations onto controllers and HMIs
🔹 Sensor installation, replacement, calibration, and validation
🔹 Troubleshooting controls and communication issues
🔹 BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and related protocols
🔹 Low-voltage copper and fiber environments
🔹 Supporting commissioning, testing, contractors, ticketing, MOPs, and change management
We're interested in people coming from:

✅ Hospitals
✅ Utilities / power generation
✅ Nuclear
✅ Water / wastewater
✅ Oil & gas
✅ Military electronics, HVAC, controls, or power systems
Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Tridium, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Automated Logic, Ignition, or similar systems is relevant.
You do not need previous hyperscale data center experience.
The strongest candidates understand the interaction between mechanical systems, electrical systems, controls, and basic networking and are comfortable troubleshooting equipment hands-on in a critical environment.
📍 Must be able to work fully onsite in the assigned Virginia or North Carolina market and float between nearby AWS sites when required.
If you've worked hands-on with BMS, BAS, EPMS, controls commissioning, HVAC controls, or critical-facility automation, I'd be interested in speaking with you.
