Job Summary:
The Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing audits, construction, and retrofit activities related to infrastructure networks and general services operations. This role serves as the liaison between construction teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all work is completed according to specifications, within timelines, and meeting quality standards. The position is hands-on, with a focus on physical audits, quality control, and documentation, but does not include troubleshooting or break/fix tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Audits & Quality Control
Conduct physical audits within specified areas of existing and new facilitiesPerform quality control (QC) inspections, verifying work against design specificationsDocument and report discrepancies, ensuring compliance with standardsEnsure proper installation and labeling of equipment and infrastructureConstruction & Retrofit Oversight
Oversee new builds and retrofit projects, coordinating with internal and external teamsTrack project schedules, progress, and any changes in scopeMaintain updated documentation for all changes and modifications to facilitiesVendor & Stakeholder Management
Manage third-party vendors involved in construction and installation tasksAct as the primary contact between vendors and internal teams for operational activitiesEnsure vendor work meets infrastructure and operational standardsOperations & Infrastructure Management
Support the physical layout and operation of facilities, including servers, equipment, and networksEnsure all updates and changes align with approved specificationsMaintain accurate records of infrastructure changes across facilitiesRequired Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and operational systemsHands-on experience with facility construction, equipment setup, and structured cablingFamiliarity with various server equipment and internal facility systemsExperience auditing facilities and verifying work against detailed specificationsProven ability to manage multiple vendors and construction activitiesStrong documentation and reporting skillsComfortable working in live operational environmentsNice to Have:

The Sr. ISP Engineer will serve as the primary on-site liaison overseeing new data center construction and retrofit projects in the Lebanon, Indiana area, with additional responsibility for data centers across neighbouring states. This role focuses on physical auditing, quality control, vendor management, and ensuring all builds and upgrades meet specifications. The engineer will work within the General Services (GS) team, which is responsible for the operation of the buildings themselves - including rows of racks, servers, and equipment that are updated constantly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the on-site liaison between construction teams, vendors, and META for new data center builds and retrofitsConduct physical audits of specific rooms within data centers, documenting findings with photographs and detailed reportsPerform quality control (QC) inspections - checking every specification to ensure installations are completed correctly and to standardManage project scheduling and track all updates and changes required across data center facilitiesMount and replace network equipment including rack servers, modems, patch panels, and fibre cablingCoordinate with network engineers to address ticketing issues related to equipment and hardwareOversee vendor activities and ensure construction and retrofit timelines are metMaintain accurate records of data center configurations, equipment inventories, and audit results
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of fibre optic networks and ISP fibre network infrastructureHands-on experience working within data centre environments, including rack servers, modems, cabling, and patch panelsProven experience with complete data centre construction, rack setup, and structured cablingFamiliarity with data centre auditing processes and quality control proceduresExperience managing vendor relationships and coordinating construction or retrofit projectsAbility to read and interpret technical specifications and construction plansStrong organisational and scheduling skillsExcellent communication skills to serve as an effective liaison between internal teams and external vendors
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (expert-level proficiency not required; general understanding sufficient)Prior experience working with ISP or telecommunications companiesBackground in large-scale data centre environments
IMPORTANT NOTES
This is not a troubleshooting role - the focus is on physical auditing, quality control, and project coordinationThe engineer should understand what key components do (e.g. patch panels, modems) but will not be responsible for diagnosing or resolving technical faultsThe data centre in Lebanon has not yet been built; the role will begin remotely and transition to on-site once the facility is operational
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Create and manage the new data centre in Indiana and bring existing data centres across neighbouring states up to current standards and specifications.
