What you'll work on:

Designing and deploying LLM-powered applications in production, not prototypesRAG architecture - retrieval pipelines, vector search, embedding strategy, chunking and re-ranking for relevance at scaleInference optimisation - quantisation, batching, and latency/throughput tradeoffs across large GPU fleetsAgentic systems - tool use, multi-step reasoning, orchestration frameworks for autonomous task executionFine-tuning and evaluation pipelines for foundation models, including guardrails and eval harnesses for production reliabilityCross-functional work with research, infra, and product teams - translating frontier techniques into shipped features

What we're looking for:

~2 years' experience, with genuine hands-on exposure to LLMs in production (not just personal projects)Strong Python, comfortable with PyTorch or equivalent production ML infraPractical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source stacks - Llama, Mistral) and prompt/context engineeringUnderstanding of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and RAG design tradeoffsBonus: inference infra experience (vLLM, TensorRT, Triton) or open-source AI tooling contributionsComfortable in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where the tooling changes every few months

THE ROLE
This is a senior individual contributor and team leadership position sitting at the intersection of
engineering and applied AI. You will report directly to the Managing Director and lead a team of 6,
responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-powered solutions that transform how the
business and its clients operate. You will be hands-on in the build while setting technical direction
for the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Architect and deliver agentic AI systems on GCP using Gemini models - from prototyping
through to production.
* Lead and develop a team of 6 engineers, setting technical standards, conducting code reviews,
and unblocking delivery.
* Partner with the MD and senior stakeholders to shape the AI product roadmap and translate
business priorities into engineering deliverables.
* Design and implement multi-agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM-integrated tools that
serve internal teams and client-facing products.
* Own the AI infrastructure on GCP - Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery ML, and associated data
pipelines.
* Evaluate and integrate emerging tools, frameworks, and APIs - keeping the business at the
leading edge of applied AI.
* Champion responsible AI practices including model evaluation, bias testing, and governance
frameworks.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
