AI Tech Lead (Python | Azure | LLM / Agentic Systems)
Contract- Hybrid, UK (One day per month in the London office)

We're looking for a strong AI Tech Lead with Python engineering with proven experience building production-grade systems on Azure, alongside hands-on exposure to modern AI and agentic architectures.

This role is focused on designing and delivering scalable AI-enabled services, working across LLM orchestration, tool integration and real-world deployment in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build robust backend services using PythonDevelop and deploy applications on Azure (AKS, Functions, App Service or similar)Build and optimise AI / agentic systems, including:LLM orchestration workflowsRetrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelinesTool usage / agent frameworksEvaluation and performance tuning of modelsWork closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable solutionsEnsure high standards of code quality, testing and performance in production systems

Required Experience

Strong hands-on Python development experience (production systems)Proven experience deploying and managing applications on AzureExperience with containerisation and/or orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes / AKS)Practical experience building AI-driven solutions in productionStrong understanding of:LLM ecosystems (e.g. OpenAI, OSS models)RAG architecturesAgent frameworks / tool integrationExperience designing scalable, reliable cloud-native systems

Desirable

Experience with MLOps / model lifecycle managementFamiliarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or similarExposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
