Stress Engineers | Aerospace, Automotive, or F1 | Contract
Join a leading engineering firm specialising in high-performance systems. We are seeking five Stress Engineers to contribute to critical projects within the automotive, F1, and aerospace sectors. These 12-month contracts focus on nacelle systems, non-turbo-machinery components, stress and fatigue analysis, and material validation.
Locations: Derby, Inchinnan, or Bristol (Hybrid Remote)
Rate: Up to £57 per hour (Inside IR35)
Clearance: BPSS eligibility required
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct stress and fatigue calculations on nacelle and structural components.
Support part lifting for PW and GE components.
Collaborate with design teams to validate fatigue-resistant materials.
Assess structural integrity using FEM tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and hand calculations.
Document findings, provide technical recommendations, and contribute to design reviews.
Collaborate across multiple sites and adapt expertise to new applications.
Essential Skills:
Proven experience in stress analysis within automotive, motorsport (F1), or aerospace sectors.
Expertise in fatigue life prediction and material behaviour under cyclic loading.
Proficiency in FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and manual calculations.
Familiarity with nacelle systems and non-turbo-machinery components.
Willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with PW or GE components and standards.
Knowledge of material science and development processes.
Familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or motorsport standards.
