Are you passionate about building innovative products, leading talented engineers, and influencing technical strategy? We are looking for a hands-on Team Lead Software Engineering to join a growing technology organisation developing intelligent connected products that combine software, cloud services, and modern user experiences. The company creates premium technology solutions used in commercial environments worldwide, with a strong focus on delivering outstanding user experiences through modern engineering and continuous innovation.

This is a rare opportunity to combine people leadership with technical excellence, allowing you to guide a high-performing team while remaining actively involved in software architecture, product development, and technology decisions. You'll work on products that sit at the intersection of user interfaces, cloud connectivity, automation, and data-driven experiences, helping to shape how customers interact with technology in real-world environments.

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for developing software that powers a portfolio of intelligent, connected products. Working closely with Product Managers, UX specialists, Cloud Engineers, and other technical stakeholders, you will turn product vision into scalable, high-quality solutions. You'll play a key role in defining engineering priorities, driving delivery, and ensuring the team continues to build reliable, maintainable software that delivers real value to customers.

As a leader, you will mentor and develop engineers, creating an environment where ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning thrive. At the same time, you'll stay close to the technology, contributing to software design, architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing engineering management with hands-on technical leadership and wants to remain connected to the craft of software development.

From a technology perspective, you'll work within a modern engineering environment built around C++, Qt/QML, connected products, cloud integration, and scalable software architecture. The organisation embraces modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, agile delivery, and DevOps principles, with a strong focus on engineering quality and long-term maintainability. There is also significant investment in AI-assisted software development, giving engineers the opportunity to leverage modern tooling and automation to increase productivity and accelerate innovation.

We're looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in software development and architecture. You'll bring at least eight years of software engineering experience, including deep expertise in C++, alongside a proven track record of designing and delivering complex software products. Previous experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving technical excellence is essential. Experience with Qt/QML, IoT solutions, connected-product platforms, or scalable software systems would be highly advantageous.

During your first few months, you'll gain a deep understanding of the product ecosystem, technology landscape, and engineering organisation. You'll establish yourself as a trusted people and technical leader, build strong relationships across teams, and take ownership of an important software development area. As you become fully integrated within the organisation, you'll help shape technical strategy, influence future product direction, support the growth of your engineers, and drive improvements that enhance quality, scalability, and delivery performance.

This opportunity offers much more than team management. It provides genuine ownership, technical influence, and the chance to work on sophisticated products that blend software, connectivity, and customer experience. If you're excited by modern engineering practices, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and want to lead a talented team developing innovative connected products at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
