We are seeking a Network Engineer - Optical (DWDM) to join a highly skilled network operations team supporting large-scale optical transport infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-capacity networks that connect critical digital services across multiple regions.
As part of the team, you will play a key role in maintaining network reliability, managing optical transport systems, supporting upgrades, and ensuring seamless connectivity across a large-scale production environment.
What You'll Be DoingOperate and support DWDM optical transport networks over fibre infrastructureManage network events including fibre cuts, signal degradation, restoration, and rerouting activitiesPerform software upgrades on optical networking platforms within structured maintenance windowsTroubleshoot optical transport issues and maintain network performance and availabilityCoordinate with internal engineering teams and external vendorsSupport change-managed network operations while ensuring minimal service impactWhat We're Looking For3+ years' experience in DWDM or Optical Transport NetworksStrong understanding of DWDM, ROADM, transponders, amplifiers, mux/demux, and fibre infrastructureExperience within Network Operations, NOC, Telecoms, ISP, Carrier, or Optical Operations environmentsStrong troubleshooting and incident management capabilitiesExperience working within structured change-management processesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsTechnology EnvironmentDWDM Optical NetworksOptical Fibre InfrastructureMulti-vendor Optical PlatformsCienaCiscoInfineraNokiaWhy Apply?Work on large-scale, business-critical networking infrastructureJoin a collaborative and highly technical engineering environmentGain exposure to advanced optical networking technologiesExcellent learning, development, and career progression opportunitiesFast and streamlined interview processRole DetailsLocation: Dublin, Ireland
