Job Description :

Job Title : Network Technician III

Job Type : Contract 12+ months (High Possibilities of conversion to full time)

Main Responsibilities

Installed, configured, and maintained DWDM systems to ensure efficient long-distance optical network connectivity and high-bandwidth data transmission.

Performed troubleshooting and performance testing of DWDM equipment, analysing optical power levels, alarms, and signal quality to maintain network reliability.

Analysed test results, documented findings, and resolved Fiber issues such as signal loss, attenuation, and connectivity problems to support optimal network performance.

Assists in the installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies such as Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered.
Troubleshoots network equipment, removes/replaces defective equipment, and works with appropriate resources to isolate and ultimately restore network.

Understands that basics of installation/change/decommissioning/testing of transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered. Perform other duties assigned by management team.

Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure integrity of the network and company.

May install and test network and customer premise equipment (CPE) including installation and delivery of end user services.

Utilizes industry standard software and hardware tools to accurately locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities.AC Power (on limited basis).DC power installs including tertiary and BDCBB.

Responsible for asset management processes and replenishment of on-site/truck materials.

Coordinates shipping and receiving of company and customer materials.

Maintains tools, test sets, and all network equipment.

Performs level 1 preventive scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure equipment including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants.

With the aid of training and coaching, responsible for learning Lumen trouble ticket, provisioning, time tracking, and materials systems and applications required to perform the job function effectively.

Update/report inventory records changes, complete transactional updates within systems to show appropriate activities by job type, enter appropriate time log, and responsive to requests for information/escalations. Regularly provides status updates and reports problem situations related to assignments to management.

Objectively evaluate, via provided reports/tools, individual performance in respect to area or national performance objectives.

With support of manager, ability to identify areas of improvement as applicable.

Job Title: Fiber Technician

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Fiber Technician with experience in fiber splicing, and fiber optic troubleshooting. The technician will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic infrastructure while ensuring high network reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform OTDR testing to identify fiber faults, loss, bends, and breaks.

Complete fusion splicing, fiber termination, and cable repairs.

Install, test, and commission fiber optic links.

Troubleshoot and restore fiber network connectivity.

Support Fiber Optic, Ethernet, IP, and SONET transmission systems.

Maintain accurate testing records, OTDR reports, and trouble tickets.

Manage fiber tools, test equipment, and inventory.

Work with internal teams to support installations and network maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with OTDR testing and interpreting OTDR traces.

Experience with fusion splicing, fiber termination, and fiber troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic networks.

Experience using EXFO, VIAVI/JDSU OTDRs, Optical Power Meters, Light Source, and Visual Fault Locator (VFL).

Familiarity with Ethernet, IP, and SONET transmission networks.

Ability to read fiber network diagrams, maintain testing documentation, and work independently.

Experience working in data center, telecom, or enterprise network environments is highly preferred.
