Main Responsibilities
Installed, configured, and maintained DWDM systems to ensure efficient long-distance optical network connectivity and high-bandwidth data transmission.
Performed troubleshooting and performance testing of DWDM equipment, analysing optical power levels, alarms, and signal quality to maintain network reliability.
Analysed test results, documented findings, and resolved Fiber issues such as signal loss, attenuation, and connectivity problems to support optimal network performance.
Assists in the installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies such as Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered.
Troubleshoots network equipment, removes/replaces defective equipment, and works with appropriate resources to isolate and ultimately restore network.
Understands that basics of installation/change/decommissioning/testing of transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered. Perform other duties assigned by management team.
Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure integrity of the network and company.
May install and test network and customer premise equipment (CPE) including installation and delivery of end user services.
Utilizes industry standard software and hardware tools to accurately locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities.AC Power (on limited basis).DC power installs including tertiary and BDCBB.
Responsible for asset management processes and replenishment of on-site/truck materials.
Coordinates shipping and receiving of company and customer materials.
Maintains tools, test sets, and all network equipment.
Performs level 1 preventive scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure equipment including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants.
With the aid of training and coaching, responsible for learning Lumen trouble ticket, provisioning, time tracking, and materials systems and applications required to perform the job function effectively.
Update/report inventory records changes, complete transactional updates within systems to show appropriate activities by job type, enter appropriate time log, and responsive to requests for information/escalations. Regularly provides status updates and reports problem situations related to assignments to management.
Objectively evaluate, via provided reports/tools, individual performance in respect to area or national performance objectives.
With support of manager, ability to identify areas of improvement as applicable.

Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Facility Maintenance
Perform general site maintenance activities, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining telecommunications facilities.Remove and dispose of obsolete fiber infrastructure and related materials.Manage, organize, and return surplus equipment and materials to designated warehouse locations.Maintain onsite equipment designated for future deployment.Ensure site security, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld.Escort and monitor customers, vendors, and visitors within designated equipment areas.Assist with the installation, provisioning, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications services ranging from DS0 through OC192.Support the installation and testing of transmission and switching equipment.Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on network equipment and supporting infrastructure.Troubleshoot network equipment and replace faulty modules or components as required.Monitor network performance and assist in identifying potential service issues.Support network restoration activities during outages and service interruptions.Receive, ship, track, and replenish equipment, tools, and consumable materials.Maintain inventory records and coordinate equipment and material logistics.Track spare parts inventory and coordinate repair or replacement of defective equipment.Maintain tools, testing devices, and electronic systems, including:Fiber optic transmission equipmentLightwave multiplexing equipmentAC and DC power systemsTelecommunications test equipmentDocumentation & Reporting
