We are seeking a Software Developer to join an Amazon engineering team supporting the development of a software and data pipeline for an IoT quality-control device. This role will focus on building the connection between physical hardware, edge devices, and AWS cloud services.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Python, AWS IoT, MQTT, AWS Lambda, and S3, along with experience developing software on edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson. Experience building data-ingestion workflows that move data from hardware to the cloud is particularly important.
Candidates with additional experience developing machine learning models, anomaly detection, or other data-driven quality-control solutions are highly desirable.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Python applications on edge devices, including NVIDIA Jetson.Build and support hardware-to-cloud data ingestion pipelines.Integrate IoT devices with AWS IoT and MQTT.Develop cloud-based processing and data workflows using AWS Lambda and S3.Design reliable workflows for collecting, processing, and transferring data generated by IoT devices.Troubleshoot issues across the hardware, edge, and cloud environments.Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement scalable IoT software solutions.Support testing, validation, and optimization of the IoT quality-control pipeline.Contribute to the development or integration of ML/anomaly-detection capabilities where applicable.Required QualificationsStrong professional experience with Python development.Hands-on experience with AWS IoT.Experience working with MQTT and IoT device communication.Experience with AWS Lambda and Amazon S3.Experience developing software for edge devices, preferably NVIDIA Jetson.Experience designing or implementing data-ingestion pipelines from hardware/edge devices to the cloud.Strong understanding of IoT, cloud, and distributed data workflows.What We're Looking ForThe strongest candidates will be more than general Python or AWS developers. We're looking for someone who has hands-on experience connecting physical devices to cloud infrastructure and understands how data moves from an edge device into AWS.
A candidate who has built an end-to-end IoT pipeline using Python, Jetson, MQTT, AWS IoT, Lambda, and S3 would be an excellent fit. Experience with ML and anomaly detection would be an additional differentiator.
