THE ROLE
A well-established satellite manufacturer is looking for a Front-End Application Engineer to help develop 2-3 new applications across web and desktop environments, focused on data visualisation, operational tooling and intuitive user interfaces.
The successful engineer will have architectural support but will be expected to lead the detailed front-end development and technical implementation.
CONTRACT
6-12 Month Contract (potential extension)£300 Per DayRemote working with occasional travel to London or GlasgowWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Build and evolve 2-3 front-end applications for web and/or desktop.Develop data-rich and visually engaging interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and React.Help shape the front-end architecture, with architectural guidance available while owning the detail and implementation.Integrate applications with backend services and APIs.Contribute to CI/CD, using tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket, and cloud-based application development.Work closely with the wider team to deliver high-quality, production-ready applications.KEY REQUIREMENTS
Strong commercial experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.Must have solid skills in React Strong UI/front-end development knowledge.Experience building and shipping production applications.Experience with data visualisation is highly desirable.Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub or Bitbucket.Experience building applications in a cloud environment.Ability to work with different architectures and provide practical technical guidance.WHAT NEXT…

* Take end-to-end responsibility for design, development, testing, and quality of your
deliverables
* Develop clean, maintainable, performant frontend code following team best practices and
coding standards
* Write well-tested code with appropriate test coverage and participate in code reviews to
uphold quality standards
* Ensure applications work securely, efficiently, and consistently across modern browsers and
devices
* Contribute to monitoring, troubleshooting, and post-incident improvements within owned
components
* Identify areas for improvement in code, user experience, or development processes and
propose practical solutions
* Provide input into technical designs and implementation plans, offering constructive
feedback to peers
* Collaborate effectively with teammates, fostering a supportive environment and
continuously developing professionally
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* 3+ years hands-on software development experience
* Experience building production frontend applications using JavaScript and TypeScript
* Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
* Strong understanding of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, and the DOM)
* Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
* Experience writing unit and integration tests and working within frontend build and CI/CD
pipelines
* Working knowledge of secure frontend development practices
* Experience ensuring applications perform reliably across modern browsers and devices
* Experience incorporating AI-powered tools into development workflows (e.g., code
generation, testing, accessibility checks)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics
* Experience working in an agile environment
* Experience working in international/multi-site environments with exposure to remote-team
setup and tools
* Experience working in early-stage technology companies (advantage)
* Experience working in a pharmaceutical regulated industry (advantage)
