Our client is expanding its cloud capacity engineering team and is looking for an Infrastructure Capacity Planning Engineer to help plan, analyze, and optimize infrastructure across a large private cloud environment.
The team is responsible for the end-to-end capacity lifecycle - from planning and forecasting through procurement, deployment, utilization, and ultimately reducing or eliminating unused capacity.
What You'll Be Working OnPrivate cloud infrastructure supporting VMs, containers, compute, storage, and network environmentsLong-range infrastructure forecastingCapacity modeling and utilization analysisData center power, rack, and cooling capacity planningInfrastructure procurement and capacity validationResource optimization and reclamationInfrastructure scaling and augmentationAutomation of capacity planning processes and toolsResponsibilitiesWork with application and infrastructure teams to understand future capacity requirementsBuild forecasting models for long-term infrastructure growthDevelop automated tools to improve capacity planning and analysisMeasure performance and utilization across deployed compute and storage resourcesAnalyze capacity trends and identify potential risksRecommend infrastructure scaling and optimization strategiesValidate infrastructure designs and procurement requirementsPartner with compute, storage, and network engineering teamsReview bills of materials and infrastructure deliverablesSupport quotes, funding requests, and procurement trackingAssist finance teams with infrastructure budgetingMaintain capacity planning frameworks and infrastructure inventoriesIdentify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and technologiesCommunicate capacity findings and recommendations to technical stakeholdersQualifications3-5+ years of relevant experienceBackground in infrastructure engineering, capacity planning, cloud infrastructure, or infrastructure analyticsExperience with cloud/private cloud technologiesUnderstanding of compute, virtualization, storage, and networkingExperience with forecasting, modeling, utilization analysis, or resource planningExperience automating technical processes or developing planning toolsStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsIf your background combines infrastructure engineering with data-driven capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization, we'd like to hear from you.
