THE PROJECT

A global financial services organisation is delivering a large-scale Identity & Access Management (IAM) transformation and is looking for an experienced Technical Lead to help shape and deliver next-generation identity services. This is an opportunity to lead the technical direction of a major enterprise programme, driving secure, scalable IAM solutions across a complex global environment.

Lead the technical design and architecture for enterprise IAM solutions.Define and maintain High & Low Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs).Drive technical decision-making, solution governance, and technology selection.Ensure alignment with security, enterprise architecture, and regulatory standards.Champion Zero Trust and Identity-First security principles.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and design assurance across engineering teams.Support delivery planning, technical risk management, and cross-team integration.Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and production-ready.SKILLS NEEDEDProven experience leading enterprise IAM programmes within Financial Services.Strong background in Identity & Access Management, Authentication, and Authorisation.Experience designing secure, scalable architectures in complex enterprise environments.Knowledge of Zero Trust, Identity Lifecycle Management, Secrets Management, and API Security.Experience with DevSecOps, Secure SDLC, cloud-native security, and automation.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business teams.Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

We're working with a well-established enterprise organisation embarking on a significant Identity & Access Management transformation. They're looking for an experienced Senior IAM Engineer with deep expertise across the Microsoft identity stack, particularly Microsoft Entra ID, to play a key role in strengthening and modernising their identity security capabilities.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll design, implement and enhance secure identity solutions across a complex Microsoft environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and support Microsoft Entra ID solutions across the organisation.

Lead the implementation and optimisation of Conditional Access policies and authentication controls.

Configure and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Passwordless Authentication and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).

Drive Zero Trust identity initiatives and improve the organisation's overall security posture.

Manage identity lifecycle processes, including Joiner, Mover and Leaver workflows.

Integrate cloud and on-premises identities using Entra Connect and Cloud Sync.

Administer Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and privileged access controls.

Implement Identity Governance capabilities, including Access Reviews and Entitlement Management.

Support Microsoft Defender for Identity and identity threat detection initiatives.

Automate identity administration using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.

Collaborate with Cyber Security, Infrastructure and Cloud teams to deliver secure identity solutions.

Produce technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer where required.

Required Experience

5+ years' experience working within Identity & Access Management.

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

Proven experience implementing and managing Conditional Access policies.

Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication, Passwordless Authentication and modern identity security controls.

Hands-on experience with Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Experience with Identity Governance, Access Reviews and Entitlement Management.

Knowledge of Hybrid Identity, Active Directory and Entra Connect.

Strong understanding of authentication protocols including SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.

Experience implementing Zero Trust security principles.

Strong PowerShell scripting skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
