Cloud Infrastructure Capacity Engineer | Forecasting & Automation

We're seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Capacity Engineer to help manage the growth and efficiency of a large private cloud infrastructure environment.

This is an engineering role focused heavily on capacity modeling, forecasting, infrastructure analytics, automation, and resource optimization.

You'll help bridge the gap between application teams and infrastructure management by translating business and technical requirements into infrastructure capacity plans.

The Role

You'll be responsible for helping answer critical infrastructure questions:

How much compute capacity will we need six months or years from now?Are our existing compute and storage resources being utilized effectively?When should additional infrastructure be purchased?Where can capacity be reclaimed or optimized?What infrastructure requirements should be included in future deployments?Are current capacity levels creating a potential performance or availability risk?Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and automate capacity planning and forecasting toolsCreate models to predict long-range infrastructure growthAnalyze compute and storage utilizationSupport private cloud VM and container capacity managementForecast data center requirements including power, racks, and coolingValidate infrastructure designs, procurement requirements, and bills of materialsPartner with compute, storage, and network engineersSupport infrastructure quotes, funding requests, and procurement activitiesMaintain infrastructure capacity planning frameworks and inventoryProvide recommendations around infrastructure scaling and future growthIdentify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency and reduce wasteSupport finance teams with future technology demand and budget planningDocument and communicate process improvementsWork across engineering teams to resolve capacity-related blockersIdeal Background3-5+ years in infrastructure engineering, capacity planning, infrastructure analytics, or a related areaExperience with cloud/private cloud environmentsKnowledge of compute platforms, virtualization, storage, and networkingExperience with forecasting, modeling, utilization analysis, or infrastructure planningStrong analytical skills and comfort working with dataExperience developing or automating tools and processesComfortable working with multiple technical teams and stakeholders

Cloud Capacity Engineer | Private Cloud Infrastructure

We're looking for a Cloud Capacity Engineer to join a growing infrastructure engineering team supporting private cloud platforms and enterprise-scale systems.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, capacity planning, forecasting, data analysis, and automation. You'll help determine how much compute, storage, networking, power, rack space, and cooling capacity is needed to support future growth.

You'll work closely with application development teams, infrastructure engineers, operations, procurement, and finance to make sure infrastructure capacity aligns with business and technology demands.

What You'll DoBuild and automate tools for infrastructure capacity planning, forecasting, and sizingDevelop forecasting models to predict long-term growth of computing resourcesAnalyze utilization and performance of compute and storage environmentsSupport capacity planning for private cloud environments, including VMs and containersHelp determine data center power, rack, and cooling requirementsValidate infrastructure procurement requirements using models and architecture designsPartner with compute, storage, and network engineering teams on infrastructure designs and bills of materialsSupport infrastructure scaling, future growth, and capacity augmentation decisionsIdentify underutilized resources and opportunities for improved efficiencyPartner with finance on capacity planning and future technology budgetsEvaluate capacity data and thresholds to identify potential performance or availability risksDevelop and maintain infrastructure capacity planning frameworks and inventoryAutomate processes and identify opportunities to improve infrastructure planningWhat We're Looking ForApproximately 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure analytics, capacity planning, forecasting, or related engineeringExperience working with cloud or private cloud infrastructureUnderstanding of compute, virtualization, storage, and networkingExperience with data analysis, modeling, forecasting, or capacity managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience automating tools or processesAbility to work cross-functionally with application and infrastructure engineering teams
