AWS Architect - 6-Month Contract

We are looking for an experienced AWS Architect to join a large-scale cloud transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable and resilient AWS solutions, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, security and application teams. The role is hands-on and suited to an architect who can translate business requirements into practical cloud solutions and support teams through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable, secure and highly available AWS solutions.Lead AWS cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.Define cloud architecture, patterns and best practices.Work closely with engineering teams to ensure architectural designs are successfully implemented.Provide technical guidance across AWS infrastructure, networking, security and IAM.Review existing cloud environments and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation and cost reduction.Support Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices, particularly Terraform.Develop and maintain architecture documentation and technical standards.Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance and compliance requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

Strong commercial experience as an AWS Architect / Cloud Architect / Senior Cloud Engineer.Extensive experience across core AWS services Strong understanding of AWS networking, security and identity.Proven experience delivering AWS migrations and cloud transformation programmes.Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform.Understanding of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.Experience designing highly available, resilient and scalable cloud platforms.Strong understanding of cloud security and best practices.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

AWS Solutions Architect certification.Enterprise-scale AWS experience.Experience with Kubernetes / EKS.Experience with FinOps and AWS cost optimisation.Experience working within regulated or security-conscious environments.

This is a 6-month contract offering the opportunity to work on a significant AWS transformation programme within an enterprise environment.
