The Opportunity

We're partnering with a highly respected organisation looking to strengthen its internal Microsoft capability with the appointment of an experienced Microsoft 365 & Azure Subject Matter Expert.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who lives and breathes the Microsoft stack. You'll take ownership of core Microsoft services, security policies, governance controls and modern workplace technologies whilst acting as a trusted adviser to both technical and business stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for driving best practice across Microsoft 365, Azure and associated security technologies, ensuring the environment remains secure, compliant and optimised for end users.

Summary of the Team & Role

Enterprise BI Platforms team supports the organization's strategic analytics ecosystem, including Looker, Tableau, Oracle Analytics, and other enterprise BI technologies used across multiple business units.
Following a recent ownership transition, the team is seeking a hands-on Senior Looker Administrator to provide deep platform expertise, stabilize operations, lead overdue upgrades, support new API and AI-driven initiatives, and help establish long-term best practices for the Looker environment. This is a platform administration role focused on enterprise-scale Looker support and governance. It is not a Looker Developer or BI Analyst position.

Responsibilities

Administer and support enterprise Looker platform

Lead platform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and release activities

Provide advanced L3/L4 production support and troubleshooting

Manage platform performance, stability, and operational health

Support disaster recovery planning and environment management

Administer user access, permissions, governance, and Azure AD integrations

Support Looker APIs and platform integrations for emerging AI and automation use cases

Manage GitHub-based workflows and LookML deployment processes

Partner with internal teams on platform modernization initiatives

Create documentation, operational runbooks, and best practices

Mentor internal engineers and support knowledge transfer activities

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on Looker Administration experience

Deep expertise supporting enterprise-scale Looker environments

Strong experience with Looker upgrades, patching, and platform maintenance

Experience providing advanced production support for BI platforms

Strong understanding of LookML, GitHub, and deployment workflows

Experience working with Looker APIs and platform integrations

Knowledge of access management, governance, and user provisioning

Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)

Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms

Python or scripting for automation
