DEV Container Engineer (Docker and Kubernetes) Needed - 6 month Contract - Fully remote

EUC W365 support, AWS Workspace, OSI model, Linux/WSL and Dev Containers.

Key tasks

EUC W365 support, AWS Workspace, OSI model, Linux/WSL and Dev Containers.Provide platform support and technical engineering, complementing the EUC engineering teamDeepdive and resolved developer issues, specifically with local container development. Meeting developer needs, while maintaining security principles.Developer best practice - define and implement user best practice like container development - working with DevEx, Developers, Security and EUC.Assist in the persona definition and support - including software and elevated privilege requirementsAssist in investigating Zero Trust connectivity issues - liaise with the ZScaler team to remediateAssist in defining and resolving software and dependency related issues

End user computer technical skills

Level 2 desktop troubleshooting) for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu operating systems.Knowledge of End User Computing architecture (including virtual and physical devices, modern management technologies and zero trust principles)Privilege management software applicationUnderstanding of software installation via standard channelsExperience with Linux/WSLGeneral awareness of developer workflows and tooling, including best practice and general industry trends

Container developments skills

Experience with the design and development of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, and being able to apply this knowledge to assist others undertaking similar tasksWork with other teams to create portable packages that contain bundled code,tools,librariesOwning and maintaining a catalogue of container build images, with differing target programming languages, for use by developers, optimising for security and performanceSupport of base images, being able to identify problems and performing routine updates (e.g. certificate changes, configuration changes) where necessaryDevelop CI/CD pipelines, particularly to validate changes to container build definition/base image before rolloutImplement centralised logging solutions of containerized environments, allowing them to be used within the parameters set by CyberContribute to development of container strategies and best practices

Required qualifications

Knowledge of Container cluster architecture3+ years of experience with container technologies (Docker, WSL, Kubernetes) for Linux and WindowsGood understanding of and experience with creating and maintaining DevcontainersAwareness of container procurement, secure pipeline scanning and best practiceGood understanding of and experience in Programming languages (Python, Java, Powershell ,C##)Strong knowledge with cloud platforms
