As an Engineer specializing in developer workflows, you'll be at the forefront of our transition to GitHub. You'll work closely with developers to understand their pain points, streamline their processes, and build robust automation solutions. Your deep understanding of GitFlow, GitHub Actions, and build systems like Yocto will be crucial in ensuring a smooth and productive development experience. Key Responsibilities:
GitHub Workflow Champion: Lead and support the adoption of GitHub and GitFlow within the development teams, providing guidance and best practices.GitHub Actions Automation: Design, develop, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows to automate various development tasks, including building, testing, and deployment processes.Pull Request Support: Assist developers with pull request workflows, including branch management, merging strategies, and conflict resolution.Build System Expertise: Leverage your experience with Yocto or similar embedded Linux build tools to support and optimize build processes within our CI/CD pipelines.Jenkins Pipeline Management: Maintain and enhance existing Jenkins pipelines, and contribute to their migration or integration with GitHub Actions.Developer Tooling: Develop and maintain internal tools and scripts using Python to improve developer productivity and address specific workflow challenges.Embedded Linux Expertise: Apply your deep understanding of the Embedded Linux platform to troubleshoot development and build-related issues.Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role with a strong focus on developer workflows.Extensive experience with Git and a deep understanding of GitFlow branching strategies.Strong proficiency in building and automating workflows using GitHub Actions.Hands-on experience with embedded Linux build systems, such as Yocto Project or similar tools (e.g., Buildroot, PTXdist).Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms.Excellent programming skills in Python for developing automation scripts and tools.GCS is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
